Staff Engineer / Lead Full-Stack Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly hands-on Staff Engineer / Lead Full-Stack Engineer to join our core engineering team and take ownership of building and scaling our global investing platform. This high-impact role involves solving complex technical problems, writing production-grade code, and making critical architectural decisions. You will collaborate closely with the founders and product team, driving engineering initiatives from conceptualization and system design through implementation and deployment. The ideal candidate will operate across the technology stack, bringing strong backend engineering expertise to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & System Design: Design and build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems, making critical architectural decisions as the platform evolves.
• Full-Stack Development: Develop end-to-end product features using React.js on the frontend and Golang (preferred) or Java on the backend.
• Backend Engineering: Build robust backend services, APIs, database schemas, and distributed system components.
• Technical Ownership: Take complete ownership of engineering initiatives, from understanding requirements and designing solutions to coding, testing, and deployment.
• Scalability & Performance: Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve application performance, reliability, and system efficiency.
• Platform Integrations: Build and maintain integrations with external financial services, broking platforms, payment systems, and other third-party providers.
• Engineering Excellence: Establish good engineering practices around code quality, testing, observability, security, and deployment.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with founders, product, and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in product-led technology companies or high-growth startups.
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Golang (preferred) or Java.
• Good understanding of system design, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs, backend services, and database-driven applications.
• Strong understanding of databases, distributed systems, performance optimization, and application scalability.
• Experience owning and delivering complex engineering projects independently.
• Ability to make architectural decisions while remaining deeply involved in hands-on development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fintech, wealth management, financial services, or investment platforms.
• Experience working with payment systems, broking integrations, or transaction-heavy applications.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, event-driven architectures, WebSockets, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building products from 0 to 1 or scaling early-stage technology platforms.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows.

Experience

• 6–8 years of relevant software engineering experience, ideally within product-led technology companies or high-growth startups.

• Location: Mumbai, India

• Work Setting: Onsite, 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday)
