TypeScript Test Automation Engineer

Job Summary

The TypeScript Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using TypeScript to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. This role plays a key part in the software development lifecycle by identifying bugs, improving processes, and supporting continuous integration and delivery efforts. The engineer will collaborate closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using TypeScript for web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and report defects with detailed documentation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing practices.
• Troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams for timely resolutions.
• Maintain and update test frameworks, tools, and scripts to adapt to evolving project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of software testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with REST API testing and tools like Postman.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing concepts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications.
• Experience working with WebSockets API.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software test automation, with a strong focus on using TypeScript.
• Prior experience in designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
• Experience in web and mobile application testing is highly valued.

Environment

• Full-time position based in Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, or Bangalore.

Salary

₹14,00,000 to ₹22,00,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications).
