Job Summary
The Head – Engineering & Utilities will lead the entire Engineering and Utilities functions at Dalmia Polypro’s Nashik manufacturing site. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of critical plant utilities and infrastructure. The role involves driving plant reliability, energy and water efficiency initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and managing engineering projects. The position requires a hands-on, strategic leader with strong technical expertise, capable of managing internal teams and external partners to optimize plant performance and support the company's sustainability and growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own the Engineering & Utilities function, ensuring optimal performance, safety standards, and compliance.
- Oversee operations and maintenance of critical utility systems, including boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen systems, pumps, and piping networks.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with plant requirements, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage plant infrastructure, identify gaps, and develop improvement plans to enhance utility systems and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation teams, and external O&M partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Drive water and utility efficiency initiatives to reduce consumption, losses, and operating costs, emphasizing responsible water management.
- Lead engineering projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements to enhance plant reliability and operational performance.
- Lead and develop the Engineering & Utilities team, managing internal staff and external stakeholders, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Present utility performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership, supporting strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Engineering, Utilities, Plant Engineering, or Maintenance within manufacturing or process industries.
- Strong expertise in plant utilities and engineering infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen systems, pumps, piping, cooling, and water systems.
- In-depth knowledge of plant reliability, maintenance, and asset management.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams and outsourced O&M partners.
- Experience in water-intensive manufacturing (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
