Job Summary

The VP Technology will own the technology vision, architecture, and engineering execution behind the company’s industrial AI platform. This senior leadership role involves leading a cross-functional engineering organization, setting technical direction, building and growing a high-performing team, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of all product deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Own the technology strategy and architecture for the company’s platform, making key build vs. buy, stack, and scaling decisions.
• Lead, grow, and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, including hiring, structuring the organization, and raising the technical bar as the team scales.
• Stay hands-on as needed by reviewing architecture and code, unblocking the team on complex technical challenges, and setting the engineering standard by example.
• Drive the integration of AI/ML capabilities into the core product, collaborating closely with the AI/Data Science team.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and costs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), balancing performance, reliability, and expenditure as the platform scales.
• Partner closely with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and trade-offs.
• Ensure engineering delivery predictability, including sprint planning, release cadence, and production reliability (Service Level Agreements, incident response).
• Represent engineering to leadership and communicate technical direction and progress to customers and investors as needed.

Qualifications

• B.Tech from a Tier 1 college.
• 8+ years of overall software engineering experience with prior experience in a VP Technology or engineering leadership role at an early-stage startup.
• Proven experience in building and scaling a product from 0 to 1 in a startup environment.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS cloud, Java, React.js, SQL, and MongoDB.
• Strong exposure to AI/ML, with a solid understanding of integrating machine learning and AI capabilities into a production product.
• Experience in team management, including hiring, structuring, and leading engineering teams, with accountability for their output.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in working within a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment.
• Familiarity with software development best practices, Agile methodologies, and cloud architecture design principles.

Experience

• Minimum of 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant leadership experience in high-tech startups.
