Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Architect with a strong background in enterprise architecture and Open Group Certification (e.g., TOGAF Level 1/2) to lead the design, implementation, and governance of Microsoft 365 solutions. This role involves acting as a strategic advisor for cloud productivity, collaboration, and modern workplace transformations, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals, security, and compliance frameworks. As the Lead Architect for Microsoft 365 migration, you will deliver design, advisory, and architecture services across the entire Microsoft 365 platform for leading banking institutions in Malaysia. You will engage with C-suite executives, technology leaders, and project teams to define secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that meet business requirements and regulatory obligations. Your responsibilities span strategy, architecture, implementation, and long-term roadmap development. The position is based in the India Client Innovation Center (CIC), with close collaboration across regional teams and customers, including travel to Malaysia when required.
Responsibilities

Strategy & Architecture
- Lead the strategic architecture and design of Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring alignment with banking industry goals, high availability, and regulatory requirements.
- Define multiyear Microsoft 365 adoption roadmaps covering Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Intune, Defender, Purview, and third-party integrations.
- Develop enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance models that support secure cloud adoption and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging Microsoft technologies such as Copilot, Viva, and AI capabilities to drive innovation in the banking sector.

Security & Compliance
- Architect robust security and compliance solutions across Microsoft 365 E5 services with a focus on regulated banking environments.
- Design and implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP), sensitivity labels, retention policies, eDiscovery, Insider Risk Management, and Microsoft Purview controls to meet regional regulations (e.g., MAS TRM, Bank Negara Malaysia guidelines).
- Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to align technical controls with business policies, conduct impact assessments, and support audits.
- Lead discussions on regulatory readiness, zero-trust architecture, and secure identities using Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, and privileged access management.

Technical Leadership & Implementation
- Lead enterprise-scale migration programs from on-premises and legacy systems to Microsoft 365, including tenant-to-tenant migrations, Exchange, and SharePoint upgrades, and hybrid deployments.
- Provide high-level guidance on complex integrations, customizations, and automation using tools such as PowerShell, Power Automate, and the Graph API.
- Develop migration strategies for integrating third-party tools with Microsoft 365 services and orchestrate end-to-end implementation.
- Ensure successful handover to operations teams by defining operational runbooks, monitoring frameworks, and service management processes.

Advisory & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary architectural advisor and trusted partner to customer stakeholders, including CIOs and CISOs, providing guidance on best practices and emerging trends.
- Facilitate workshops, executive presentations, and design reviews, translating complex technical topics into clear business language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, network, data, application) to ensure cohesive solution delivery and manage dependencies across workstreams.
- Drive change management initiatives and user adoption programs to promote efficient use of Microsoft 365 services across the organization.
Qualifications

Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and IT strategy, with at least 5 years leading Microsoft 365 migrations and transformations in large banking or financial services environments.
- Deep expertise in designing, implementing, and migrating Exchange Online/On-Premises, SharePoint Online/Server, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Intune, Defender, Purview, and Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex Microsoft 365 programs that require coordination of multiple stakeholder groups and vendor teams.
- Strong understanding of ITIL-based service management, incident, change, and problem processes in enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating third-party solutions, identity providers, and hybrid cloud architectures within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Certifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-100/MS-101).
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and Azure Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate and Messaging Administrator Associate.
- Additional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Information Protection & Governance Specialist (SC-400) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are advantageous.
- Must be The Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA) (L1/L2/L3).

Environment
This role is based in the India Client Innovation Center (CIC) with primary support for banking clients in Malaysia. Frequent collaboration with Malaysian stakeholders is expected, and occasional travel to customer sites in Kuala Lumpur or other regions may be required. Flexible work arrangements are available, but candidates should be comfortable working across time zones.
