Software Engineer - Android Firmware

Job Summary

The Software Engineer will specialize in Android firmware development, focusing on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Framework. This role is essential for enhancing the functionality and performance of the infotainment system through rigorous debugging and code analysis, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of the software products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AOSP firmware components for infotainment systems.
• Analyze and fix issues reported in Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) and Vendor Test Suite (VTS).
• Debug software issues independently and ensure optimal performance of Android firmware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enhancements and features into existing systems.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Android firmware development, with specific experience in AOSP.
• Programming Skills:
  • Proficient in JAVA.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is an added advantage.
• Domain Skills:
  • Familiarity with Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and AOSP architecture.
  • Understanding of Android concepts such as SELinux Policy (Sepolicy), and configuration files (config and board config).
  • Ability to independently analyze and resolve CTS/VTS issues.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
  • Good understanding of data structures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the infotainment domain is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience with Android firmware development.
