Dalmia Bharat Group is looking for an experienced Head – Engineering & Utilities to take overall ownership of engineering and utilities infrastructure at its Nashik manufacturing site.
The site spans approximately 35 acres, including around 20 acres of manufacturing operations, with a complex network of plant utilities and infrastructure.
This is a senior plant leadership role requiring a strong combination of technical depth, utilities expertise, reliability mindset and hands-on problem-solving ability.
The role will coordinate with existing Electrical and Instrumentation & Automation leadership, as well as outsourced O&M partners, and will act as the overall Engineering & Utilities owner for the site.
· Own the overall Engineering & Utilities function for the manufacturing site.
· Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all critical utilities.
· Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with plant requirements.
· Drive continuous improvement in utility performance and reliability.
· Oversee operations and maintenance of critical utility systems.
· Drive preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
· Improve equipment reliability, availability and operating efficiency.
· Identify recurring failures and implement sustainable corrective solutions.
· Ensure adequate maintenance planning, spares and resource availability.
· Manage complex utility infrastructure, piping networks, pumps and associated systems.
· Identify infrastructure gaps and develop improvement plans.
· Ensure safe and compliant operation of utilities and associated equipment.
· Evaluate and implement new engineering solutions and technologies.
· Work closely with Electrical and Instrumentation & Automation Heads.
· Coordinate with outsourced O&M teams, including ATP O&M.
· Align engineering and utilities requirements with Production, Maintenance, EHS and other plant functions.
· Ensure seamless integration between different engineering disciplines.
· Drive efficient utilisation of plant utilities, particularly water.
· Identify opportunities to reduce utility consumption, losses and operating costs.
· Develop initiatives to improve water efficiency and overall resource utilisation.
· Ensure responsible management of water-intensive manufacturing operations.
· Analyse utility performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Introduce innovative engineering solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
· Develop systems to monitor utility KPIs and operating performance.
· Lead engineering projects, upgrades and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
· Lead and develop the Engineering & Utilities team.
· Manage internal and external technical stakeholders.
· Build strong collaboration across plant functions.
· Present utility performance, risks, improvement plans and investment requirements to senior leadership.
The manufacturing process is water-intensive, making experience in managing water-heavy manufacturing environments particularly valuable.
The site is also located close to villages, making responsible water utilisation, environmental management and operational sustainability important considerations.
Candidates with experience in water-intensive/process manufacturing environments will therefore be strongly preferred.
· 15+ years of experience preferred in manufacturing engineering, utilities or plant engineering.
· Strong experience managing large and complex manufacturing sites.
· Proven exposure to multiple plant utilities.
· Strong Engineering + Utilities leadership experience.
· Experience managing internal teams as well as outsourced O&M partners.
· Water-intensive manufacturing experience is a major advantage.
· Strong understanding of plant utilities and infrastructure.
· Experience with boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen systems, pumps, piping and related utilities.
· Strong maintenance and reliability knowledge.
· Preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
· Utility efficiency and resource optimisation.
· Engineering projects, upgrades and continuous improvement.
· Technically strong with a hands-on and problem-solving mindset.
· Should be energetic, agile and open to new ideas and modern engineering solutions.
