Job Description
The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) – Alternatives at SBI Mutual Fund will lead the firm’s alternative investment strategies, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, and structured credit. The role involves designing and managing alternative investment products, driving fundraising, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and optimizing risk-adjusted returns for investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute alternative investment strategies, ensuring optimal risk-return trade-offs across asset classes.
Portfolio Management: Oversee fund allocations, investment decisions, and portfolio performance for alternative investment products.
Fundraising & Investor Relations: Engage with institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and family offices to raise capital and expand AUM.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to SEBI AIF regulations, IFSCA guidelines (for GIFT City funds), and other applicable legal frameworks.
Risk Management & Governance: Implement robust risk management frameworks, due diligence processes, and governance standards for alternative investments.
Deal Sourcing & Execution: Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in private equity, venture capital, and structured credit.
Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of alternative investment professionals.
Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and global investment opportunities to drive innovation in alternative products.
Key Requirements:
Experience: 15+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, or structured credit, with a strong track record in alternative investments.
Industry Expertise: In-depth understanding of alternative asset classes, AIF structures, investment strategies, and market trends.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with SEBI AIF guidelines, IFSCA regulations, and other applicable legal frameworks.
Fundraising & Networking: Proven ability to raise capital and maintain relationships with institutional investors, sovereign funds, family offices, and global LPs.
Education: MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, or other relevant professional qualifications.
Analytical & Leadership Skills: Strong decision-making abilities, risk assessment expertise, and experience in leading large investment teams.
