Job Title: Sr Manager, Sales Application Manager

India and are backed by some of the largest global venture-capital funds. We are currently contracted
to sell 16+ GVA of transformers (300 mn+ USD of sales) in the US market, across HV and MV, over the
next 4 years.
Role
We are seeking a technically strong and commercially astute Sales Application Manager to drive the
technical sales process for Ayr Energy’s range of transformers products. The role bridges engineering
and sales—translating customer specifications into optimized technical and commercial proposals and
providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of power transformer design, proposal creation (design
and costing), utility tender documentation, and experience in customer engagement
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal & Bid Management (Internal Coordination)
• Lead the end-to-end proposal process from Customer RFQ to Proposal for utility customer,
including:
Reviewing commercial and technical specifications.
Coordinating with engineering teams to develop preliminary designs and cost
estimates aligning
Preparing technically compliant and commercially optimized proposals
• Ensure clarity in scope definition, technical deviations, and compliance with all the customer
requirements & IEEE/IEC standards.
• Maintain a centralized repository of proposals, costing templates, and bid trackers for
management review.
2. Customer-Facing / Sales Engineering Support
• Participate in pre-bid and post-bid discussions with utilities, EPCs, and developers• Be the technical interface between customers and Ayr Energy for pre-order and post-
proposal clarifications.
• Review customer feedback and coordinate technical responses, design alternatives, or cost
optimizations.
• Support the sales team in presenting Ayr Energy’s product capabilities and technical
differentiators during customer meetings and bid evaluations.
3. Process Development & Cross-Functional Alignment
• Drive standardization of proposal formats, costing norms, costing logic, and approval
workflows
• Contribute to training and upskilling initiatives for the sales teams on product knowledge
• Work closely with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure alignment between
proposal commitments and manufacturing feasibility
• Build deep understanding of customer requirements, market trends, and gather critical
pricing intelligence to guide product and proposal strategy.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong engineering foundation with a deep understanding of transformer design
• Proven experience handling technical-commercial proposals for utilities or EPC customers in
the US market.
Knowledge of commercial and legal clauses, various compliance submissions, and
other special requirements of utility transformer bids
• Strong commercial acumen with attention to cost structure, margins, and competitiveness
to maintain customer satisfaction & profitability
• Excellent coordination and communication skills across technical and business functions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, and any proposal management tools.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
• 10+ years of experience in sales application, proposal engineering, or bid management for
transformers, switchgear, or related grid equipment.
• Prior experience in utility or EPC tendering processes for US market is essential.
• Familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards and U.S. or international utility specifications preferred.
