Job Summary
The L1 Support role focuses on the operational monitoring and support of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). As a Platform Technician, you will be responsible for daily operations, monitoring systems, and providing first-level support to ensure the optimal functioning of clusters and platform components.
Responsibilities
- Perform 24x7 monitoring of clusters, nodes, pods, and services using oc CLI and the OpenShift Console.
- Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct health checks for clusters and platform components.
- Handle incident alerts, perform basic triage, and escalate issues to Level 2 support as necessary.
- Support basic administrative tasks including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), project management, and configuring ConfigMaps.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance verifications and manage backups.
- Generate daily and weekly platform health reports.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years in a relevant support or operations role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in OpenShift, command line interface tools, and monitoring solutions.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills.
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and orchestration tools.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support or operations, specifically focused on monitoring and support.
