We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Cross-Reference Projects Specialist to support our engineering and product lifecycle teams in identifying alternate or variant parts based on drawing specifications and module knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of cross-referencing methodologies, engineering drawings, and product structures, and will be adept at using tools like VBA, Power BI, IMAC/ZG, ViewCAD, Teamcenter, and Power Query to streamline and automate cross-reference identification processes. This role is critical in ensuring part compatibility, optimizing inventory, and supporting design and procurement decisions across Daimler Truck’s global platforms.

*Description for Internal Candidates

• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to identify alternate or variant parts across modules and platforms.
• Develop and maintain cross-reference databases and dashboards using Power BI, Power Query, and VBA.
• Utilize tools such as IMAC/ZG, ViewCAD, and Teamcenter to extract, validate, and correlate part data.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and efficient part substitutions.
• Automate recurring cross-reference tasks and reporting processes using scripting and data visualization tools.
• Perform gap analysis and validation of cross-referenced parts to ensure compliance with technical and quality standards.
• Support BOM (Bill of Materials) optimization and variant management across product lines.
• Document methodologies, workflows, and findings in a structured and accessible format.
• Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on cross-reference tools and processes.
• Stay updated on latest tools, techniques, and best practices in cross-referencing and data automation.

*Qualifications for Internal Candidates

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cross-referencing, product lifecycle management, or related domains.
• Proficiency in VBA, Power BI, Power Query, IMAC/ZG, ViewCAD, and Teamcenter.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in BOM management and variant analysis is a plus.
