Job Summary

The General Manager of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive brand strategies that align with business objectives. This role emphasizes brand health monitoring, creative communication, cross-functional collaboration, and digital marketing to drive growth and enhance brand identity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies aligned with business objectives, incorporating market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights.
  • Monitor and assess brand health through regular perception audits, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage and maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials, communications, and customer touchpoints/channels (Omni Channel).
  • Lead the creative and communication development mandate for the brand across platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and brand consistency.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor multi-channel digital marketing strategies, leveraging social media, content marketing, and e-commerce.
  • Design and manage advertising and promotional campaigns across ATL (Above The Line) and BTL (Below The Line) channels.
  • Develop and manage content strategy, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and lead generation programs.
  • Oversee and optimize advertising budgets, ensuring effective ROI (Return on Investment).
  • Foster strategic partnerships with influencers, media outlets, and organizations.
  • Own and develop the New Product Development (NPD) roadmap and prepare accurate financial forecasts for success.
  • Analyze business performance, identifying trends and areas for growth, and manage the portfolio across categories and channels.
  • Lead customer and consumer understanding for decision making, staying abreast of industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Lead product development, branding, and communications initiatives.
  • Conduct annual business planning and implement plans for brand groups.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews for the brand.
  • Maintain strong and healthy relationships with agency partners.

Qualifications

  • Education: MBA/PGDM from a leading institute.
  • Experience: 9-15 years in FMCG/FMCD; recent experience in D2C (Direct to Consumer) is an added advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Passion for consumer marketing and creative problem-solving.
    • Strong analytical abilities; comfortable working with data.
    • Strategic thinking, leadership, and team management skills.
    • Proven experience in Brand Marketing and media planning (online and offline, social media, and e-commerce).
    • Extensive experience in portfolio management and New Product Development.
    • Strong understanding of ATL, BTL, PR, and digital marketing.
    • Self-motivated with a passion for winning.
    • Exceptional project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with adaptability and flexibility.
