Founding Product Designer

Scrabble is partnering with an early stage startup to hire a Founding AI/ML Engineer who will work closely with the founding team to build and scale cutting edge AI products from the ground up.

Job Summary

The Product Designer will be responsible for creating a seamless and intuitive experience for users of risk, compliance, and insurance software. This role requires understanding the needs of diverse user personas and integrating them into a cohesive product that makes complex data accessible and actionable while maintaining a high level of trustworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Design the core risk-assessment and Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) evaluation experience, translating raw test results into actionable insights for users.
• Develop real-time risk posture dashboards and alerting systems that prioritize essential information without overwhelming users.
• Create procurement-ready reports that can be trusted and accepted by enterprise buyers and General Counsels (GC).
• Shape and refine the design system, evolving it from a starting palette into a comprehensive design language with depth and usability.
• Later expand the design to include coverage and insurance experiences that integrate naturally with existing features.
• Contribute to brand and marketing surfaces, including the company website, ensuring a unified visual identity.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio showcasing shipped, modern product designs, especially in complex or data-rich B2B software.
• Demonstrated end-to-end design skills encompassing research, information architecture, interaction design, visual crafting, and prototyping.
• Fluency in designing for multiple user personas and complex workflows within a single product context.
• Proficiency in AI-native design and prototyping tools, enabling rapid development of high-fidelity, interactive prototypes.
• A high craft standard combined with strategic and product thinking, pushing back on design challenges with thoughtful solutions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a motivated attitude to take ownership of design as a first designer in a startup environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in industries described as "serious" such as fintech, insurtech, security, compliance, or development tools that you enhanced to feel genuinely great.
• Ability to transition designs into code, showcasing front-end fluency.
