Senior Node.js and Python Azure developer ( AWS to Azure Migration expert)

Job Summary

The Application Migration Engineer will be responsible for migrating Node.js and Python applications from AWS cloud services to Azure. This role will ensure seamless transition and deployment of applications through effective code remediation and infrastructure management, aligning with organizational goals of enhancing cloud efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Migrate Node.js and Python applications from AWS environment to Azure platform with a focus on performance optimization.
• Develop and manage application deployment scripts and pipelines utilizing Azure services, including App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Functions.
• Analyze existing source architecture and code dependencies to identify necessary changes for effective deployment on Azure.
• Perform software code remediation and refactoring as needed to ensure compatibility with Azure deployment requirements.
• Provide support for unit testing and application troubleshooting after migration to ensure application integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of cloud strategies.

Qualifications

• Education: B.E/B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4-10 years in application development with a strong focus on Node.js and Python.
• Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience migrating applications between AWS and Azure environments is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with Azure services for application development, particularly AKS and Azure Functions.
  • Experience with containerized applications, including Kubernetes and helm charts.
  • Familiarity with application deployment scripts and services (e.g., APIM, Azure App Service).
  • Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure services and configuration for hosting applications.
  • Proficient in analyzing and remediating source code for Cloud Service dependencies.
  • Knowledge of tech stack components like Confluent Kafka, AWS S3 Sync connector, and Azure Blob Storage.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda and Azure Functions in Node.js or Python environments.
• Familiarity with AWS to Azure SDK conversion processes.

Experience

4-10 years in application development and cloud migration specifically within the Node.js and Python ecosystem.
