Job Summary

The Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of data in BI reports through effective testing methodologies, including manual testing and basic SQL queries. The role requires a fundamental understanding of BI concepts and the ability to navigate and validate reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing on BI reports to verify layout and data accuracy.
• Execute basic SQL queries to validate report data against source systems.
• Understand and navigate basic BI report components for effective report analysis.
• Apply basic data validation techniques such as row counts and data type checks.
• Familiarize with and use at least one ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool and one data testing tool.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance testing processes and document findings.

Qualifications

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in SQL, capable of writing simple queries (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE).
  • Familiarity with at least one BI tool, such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Basic knowledge of ETL concepts.
  • Understanding of fundamental BI data concepts, including dimensions and measures.
• Soft Skills:
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform manual testing with minimal guidance.
• Educational Qualifications:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferable.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data testing tools.
• Familiarity with advanced SQL operations.
• Understanding of BI report development.

Experience

• Previous experience in a testing role with a focus on BI reporting and data validation is preferred but not mandatory.
