Job Summary
We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 6–9 years of experience to elevate our automation strategy and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated tests, collaborating with development teams, and driving quality in every sprint.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute end-to-end automated test scripts across User Interface (UI) and Application Programming Interface (API) layers.
- Design comprehensive test strategies and plans, maintaining robust coverage including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Automate testing processes using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, and Postman, or similar.
- Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).
- Analyze test results, report defects clearly, and monitor root causes of failures.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and operations teams to embed quality at the early stages of development.
- Track and improve metrics related to test coverage and reliability.
- Actively participate in Agile rituals, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations, with a strong focus on quality.
Qualifications
- 6–9 years of experience in software Quality Assurance (QA) with a strong emphasis on automation.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major UI automation tool such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Solid expertise in API automation using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or similar.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile workflows.
- Practical experience in integrating automation with CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA or TestRail.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with multiple automation frameworks and patterns such as Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Test Driven Development (TDD), Page Object Model, or data-driven frameworks.
- Prior experience in developing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for test environments or pipelines.
