About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Modern Trade - National Key Accounts Manager to lead and expand our presence across national modern trade chains. The role will be responsible for building strong relationships with key retail partners, driving sales growth, executing category strategies, and ensuring strong in-store visibility for our products.

You will lead National Modern Trade accounts and be responsible for driving distribution, visibility, and revenue growth across key retail chains. This role requires someone who understands how emerging brands win in modern trade — getting listings, negotiating smartly, driving sell-through, and building strong retailer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sell-in and sell-out targets.
  • Identify opportunities to increase distribution, shelf space, and category share.
  • Plan and execute joint business plans (JBPs) with key accounts.

Account Management

  • Manage and grow relationships with national modern trade chains such as DMart, Reliance Retail, Nature’s Basket, Spar, etc.
  • Own P&L and sales targets for modern trade accounts.
  • Negotiate annual trading terms, margins, listing fees, and promotions with key retailers.
  • Drive new product listings and category expansion across chains.

In-Store Execution

  • Ensure strong visibility, merchandising, and promotions across stores.
  • Coordinate with store teams, distributors, and merchandisers to drive execution.
  • Monitor stock availability and replenishment to avoid stock-outs.

Data & Insights

  • Track sales performance, inventory levels, and promotions effectiveness.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and retailer insights.
  • Use data to recommend pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align account plans.
  • Support product launches, sampling activities, and retail campaigns.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in Modern Trade / Key Accounts in Food.
  • Experience working with new-age consumer brands or D2C startups preferred.
  • Strong understanding of modern trade negotiations and category management.
