Senior Executive — International Business | Scrabble & Jigsaw
Job Description
The Role
Aravis has 30 years in generic pharma exports and an established presence across CIS, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. The portfolio is strong. The market relationships are in place. What this role exists to do is convert that foundation into new business — aggressively and consistently.
This is a field-heavy role. You will spend significant time in-market meeting distributors, attending trade events, and building the kind of relationships that actually move product. If you are looking to manage existing accounts from a desk, this is not the right position.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Distributor Acquisition
Research and map the pharmaceutical distributor and importer landscape across assigned markets — identify the right partners by size, therapeutic focus, import capability, and regulatory standing
Initiate and manage outreach to prospective distributors — cold approach where necessary, referral-based where possible
Conduct structured qualification of distributor prospects: assess their market reach, product portfolio, financial standing, regulatory compliance history, and alignment with Aravis's therapeutic categories
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and exclusivity arrangements; prepare and execute Letters of Intent and distribution agreements in coordination with the legal and finance teams
Build and maintain a live pipeline of active prospects across all assigned geographies — segmented by stage, probability, and expected timeline to first order
Client & Relationship Management
Own the full relationship lifecycle with assigned distributors — from first contact through onboarding, first order, and repeat business
Schedule and conduct regular business reviews with active distributors to assess performance, address issues, and identify opportunities to expand the product range
Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for distributors — coordinate internally on pricing, product availability, delivery timelines, and documentation
Represent Aravis at international trade fairs and pharma exhibitions including CPhI Worldwide, DUPHAT, and regional industry events — plan participation, manage meetings, and convert contacts into qualified pipeline
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Track and report on competitive activity in assigned markets — pricing movements, new entrants, product launches, and distributor switching patterns
Monitor regulatory and market access developments that could affect Aravis's product registrations or commercial pipeline in assigned geographies
Prepare structured monthly reports on pipeline status, market developments, and commercial performance for review with senior management
Identify and recommend new products from the Aravis portfolio that align with distributor demand and market trends in assigned geographies
Regulatory & Documentation Coordination
Work closely with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure that product dossier submissions are aligned with confirmed buyer demand — right products, right markets, right timelines
Brief the Regulatory team on buyer-specific requirements: market registration formats, label requirements, shelf life expectations, and country-specific documentation needs
Track the status of product registrations in active markets and use registration timelines to sequence commercial conversations and manage distributor expectations accordingly
Coordinate with the Export and Documentation team to ensure smooth order execution — from pro forma invoice through to shipment and payment
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field
4–6 years in pharmaceutical exports or international business development — generic formulations experience strongly preferred
Proven track record of identifying, qualifying, and closing distributor or importer relationships in emerging markets
Strong understanding of the generic pharma export cycle — from product registration through to order execution and payment
Ability to manage a commercial pipeline independently and report clearly without being prompted
Strong written and spoken English; Spanish is a meaningful advantage for LATAM markets
Willingness to travel 30–40% of the time internationally, including to frontier and emerging markets
Preferred
Direct exposure to LATAM, Southeast Asian, or CIS pharmaceutical markets
Working knowledge of drug registration processes, dossier requirements, and country-specific regulatory frameworks
Experience at a mid-size or independent pharma exporter — where you sourced and built your own relationships rather than inheriting an established book
What This Role Is Not
A training position. A role with a large team behind you. An account management job where the relationships have already been built.
You will be given a strong portfolio, institutional backing, and a clear mandate. The pipeline you build will be yours.
