Job Summary
The Costing and Budgeting Analyst is responsible for managing cost estimation, budget monitoring, and operational financial analysis for various projects. This role ensures that project costs remain on target, financial strategies are implemented effectively, and operational efficiencies are identified and developed.
Responsibilities
- Calculate quantities based on drawings received to ensure precise cost estimation.
- Analyze drawings from MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) consultants against established design efficiency ratios and engineering benchmarks.
- Monitor and manage budgets for various projects to prevent overruns during different project stages.
- Conduct detailed cost-to-complete analyses on GFC (Good For Construction) drawings for ongoing projects and revalidate past cost estimates.
- Perform timely rate analysis based on project types and locations to minimize contingencies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, prepare review reports, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings and design documents.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with advanced costing and budgeting software.
- Familiarity with construction processes and project management methodologies.
- Understanding of market trends in construction materials.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or financial analysis (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
Experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, budgeting, or financial analysis within the construction or engineering sectors.
