Datastage Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Datastage Developer with a focus on ETL development utilizing IBM DataStage and Netezza SQL scripting. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining ETL pipelines, ensuring efficient data integration, and optimizing SQL scripts for performance. This role is crucial in supporting our organization's data infrastructure and ensuring data integrity and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage for data integration into Netezza databases.
• Write optimized SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Create stored procedures and functions, optimizing queries for enhanced performance.
• Ensure data quality and consistency through rigorous validation and error handling.
• Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs and database performance issues.
• Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.
• Optimize ETL workflows and SQL queries to improve performance.
• Implement data governance and security measures according to organizational policies.
• Document ETL processes, data flows, and technical specifications for future reference.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in ETL development using IBM DataStage.
• Strong expertise in SQL scripting, query optimization, and performance tuning in Netezza.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
• Experience with performance tuning of SQL queries, indexing, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting for ETL automation.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools and data orchestration frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address ETL failures and performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with additional ETL tools or data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of advanced data analytics or BI tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions.
• Experience in agile development methodologies.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ETL development and data integration.
• Proven track record of working with IBM DataStage and Netezza SQL Programming.
