Job Summary

The AVP Product role is designed to shape the product strategy and roadmap for AI-native platform. This position will involve defining a clear vision of the product, fostering cross-functional alignment among teams, and ensuring that every feature developed delivers significant outcomes for government institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy (35%)

    • Define and communicate the 12-24 month product vision
    • Own the core problem related to inefficiencies created by fragmented data ecosystems and how our platform resolves it.
    • Develop product strategy for 4-5 vertical pods, including agriculture, mining, power, and infrastructure.
    • Define core platform features such as data collection, structuring, assimilation, monitoring, and decision-making.
    • Lead AI/ML roadmap decisions to identify capabilities that create the most leverage.
  • Roadmap & Prioritization (30%)

    • Own quarterly roadmap planning while balancing business development upsells, customer needs, and platform health.
    • Partner with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to define deliverables for each product pod.
    • Make strategic trade-offs between introducing new features and managing technical debt.
    • Establish product metrics and KPIs to assess product-market fit within each vertical.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment (25%)

    • Serve as a liaison between business development, subject experts, and engineering, translating customer needs into technical specifications.
    • Conduct deal reviews with business development to evaluate scope feasibility with engineering capabilities.
    • Collaborate with Operations to ensure customer success metrics are effectively tracked.
    • Engage with an advisory panel and domain experts to drive vertical-specific innovation.
  • Customer Empathy (10%)

    • Spend time with institutional customers on-site with field deployment teams.
    • Understand operational workflows, decision-making cycles, and pain points.
    • Drive improvements in Net Promoter Score (NPS).
    • Lead feedback loops from customers to inform product development.

Qualifications

  • Core Competencies:

    • 8+ years of experience as a product manager or in a similar role; 3+ years at a senior or director-level position.
    • Systems thinking with an understanding of the entire data workflow.
    • Proficiency in government operations including budget, procurement, and decision-making processes.
    • Intuition regarding data and AI - ability to differentiate between feasible and unrealistic project outcomes.
    • Technical fluency to communicate effectively with engineers and understand technical documentation.
  • Proven Track Record:

    • Experience in developing products from inception to scale, beyond merely maintaining existing solutions.
    • Background in B2B Software as a Service (SaaS), government technology, or enterprise systems.
    • History of shipping cross-functional products in alignment with engineering, sales, and operations teams.
    • Proven track record in owning product metrics and positively influencing revenue and NPS.

Preferred Skills

  • Founder mentality, demonstrating ownership of outcomes rather than just the development of features.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, particularly within government technology contexts.
  • Intellectual curiosity with a relentless focus on understanding workflows.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years as a product manager, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role.

Environment

  • Work setting typically focuses on cross-functional collaboration requiring interactions with various business and technical teams.
