Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Backend QA Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for validating backend systems, APIs, databases, and microservices to ensure robustness, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate has strong experience in backend testing frameworks, automation, and a deep understanding of backend architecture.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to understand backend functionality and define test strategies.
• Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test automation for RESTful APIs, databases, and backend systems.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and load testing.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using tools like Postman, REST Assured, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
• Validate data pipelines, backend processes, and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and backend logic.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and provide feedback to improve product quality.
• Log, track, and report defects in a timely manner and verify fixes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in backend QA or similar roles.
• Strong experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI).
• Proficiency in test automation using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend architecture.
• Experience with SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and testing asynchronous services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Experience in working with cloud environments and microservices architecture.
