Role Overview – Financial Controller

Lavonne is seeking a Financial Controller who will take ownership of establishing and

leading the financial control function across our fast-growing café and academy business.

This is a critical role for someone who brings strong financial discipline, reporting expertise,

and the ability to implement systems, processes, and internal controls from scratch.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for driving financial accuracy, building

robust reporting frameworks, and ensuring compliance across all business units. You will

partner closely with leadership to instill operational and financial discipline as the company

scales from a single-city presence to a multi-city footprint.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced,

entrepreneurial environment and is excited about building structure in a high-growth,

founder-led business.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Lead the Finance Function

Establish end-to-end financial systems, controls, and policies from scratch.

• Financial Planning & Control

Develop strong budgetary discipline, cost controls, and reporting frameworks. Lead

all forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

• Business Partnering

Work closely with founders, operations (led by Lijo), and the production team to

drive business performance.• Expansion Finance Strategy

Partner in the strategic rollout of new outlets across multiple cities. Model financial

feasibility for growth plans.

• Vendor & Commercial Management

Ensure cost efficiency and timely vendor payments; handle commercial negotiations

and backend financial controls.

• Audit, Taxation & Compliance

Manage internal/external audits, statutory compliance, and work with 3rd-party

finance vendors where required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 8–12 years of experience in finance, preferably in F&B, restaurant chains, café

systems, hotel industry, or retail.

• Experience in scaling operations.

• Strong understanding of backend production models and cafe/store-level operations.

• Hands-on leader who’s comfortable getting into the details.

• Based in Bangalore or willing to relocate.
