Our services encompass Finance Operations (including AI-assisted bookkeeping and Virtual CFO), Technical Accounting Advisory, IPO Readiness, Finance Transformation & Automation, as well as US accounting, payroll, and tax. With a workforce of over 60 professionals primarily based in Hyderabad, we are now expanding into the Bangalore market.
Job Summary
The Director position is a pivotal role focused on market ownership and business development in Bangalore. This role is not about managing an existing office; rather, it involves opening the market, developing a book of business, hiring a talented team, and serving as the face of DoubleEntry in the city. You will have direct reporting to the Partner and hold significant responsibility for the region's growth and P&L.
Responsibilities
- Market Ownership & Business Development: Own the Bangalore go-to-market strategy, pipeline, and revenue.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with founders, CFOs, finance leaders, Private Equity (PE) and Venture Capital (VC) funds, and their portfolio companies.
- Engagement Management: Scope, shape, and close high-value engagements across the full service portfolio, leading complex pursuits personally.
- Market Presence: Represent DoubleEntry at local events, enhancing the firm's visibility and credibility within the region.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with the Partner to develop regional strategies, pricing policies, and target sectors.
- Operational Oversight: Set up and oversee deliveries for clients in Bangalore, leveraging resources from the Hyderabad office.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10+ years post-qualification experience.
- Experience: Significant background in senior controllership, CFO/finance leadership, advisory, or practice leadership roles.
- Network Building: Proven ability to build relationships with CFOs, founders, and investors.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong instincts for identifying, scoping, pricing, and closing business opportunities.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Indian accounting standards, and exposure to US GAAP, IPO readiness, or transformation work is a key advantage.
- Builder’s Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, driven by ownership, and embraces AI-driven solutions in service delivery.
- Professional Presence: Capable of being the firm’s senior representative in a new market.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, regulatory frameworks, and startup ecosystem dynamics.
- Experience in growth strategy and operational management within finance services.
Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in finance leadership or accounting roles, especially in a client-facing capacity.
Environment
The position is based in Bangalore, with potential travel required for client engagements and networking. The role may involve a combination of in-office and remote work settings, fostering flexibility while ensuring operational effectiveness.
