Job Summary
The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness and implementing credit policies that align with ABB's financial goals. This role plays a crucial part in managing customer accounts, promoting effective financial relationships, and ensuring timely collections, which are essential to the organization’s success.
Responsibilities
- Credit Assessment and Risk Analysis: Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers by analyzing financial statements and credit reports to inform decisions regarding credit limits and terms.
- Credit Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures aligned with ABB’s overall financial objectives, including guidelines for credit negotiations.
- Business Relationship Management: Collaborate closely with ABB’s Collection Team and various business units to maintain strong relationships and resolve credit-related issues through effective communication and negotiation.
- Collaboration with Sales and Finance Teams: Work with the sales team to evaluate potential customers and advise on credit terms, while reconciling accounts with the Collection Team to manage cash flow.
- Conduct Credit Committee Meetings: Organize periodic meetings, preparing necessary data and implementing action items resulting from committee discussions.
- Credit Monitoring and Collections: Oversee customer accounts to ensure timely payments and manage collections, including sending reminders and making collection calls as needed.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on credit metrics such as accounts receivable aging and bad debt provisions, assisting management in assessing overall credit risk.
- Perform Annual Review of All Customers: Review all customer accounts to set revised credit limits and risk categories, ensuring compliance with ABB’s core values of safety and integrity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in credit management within a manufacturing company.
- Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAP is a significant plus.
- Flexibility to work various shift timings.
Preferred Skills
- Additional experience in financial analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Familiarity with international credit policies and practices.
Experience
- Entry-level position suitable for candidates with minimal experience (0-2 years) in credit management.
Environment
