Job Summary

The Smart TV QA Automation Engineer is responsible for ensuring high-quality performance across Smart TV platforms such as Samsung TV, LG TV, and Vidaa TV within the OTT industry. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and executing both automated and manual test cases to validate functionality, performance, security, and overall user experience. The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative, agile environment to ensure robust testing processes that contribute to the organization’s quality standards and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation testing frameworks for various Smart TV platforms.
• Execute comprehensive testing strategies, including manual, regression, exploratory, performance, security, monkey, and interruption testing.
• Integrate test cases within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git and Jenkins to ensure smooth deployment cycles.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to identify and prioritize issues, tracking them via tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Analyze test results and generate detailed reports while ensuring adherence to quality and KPI standards.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Smart TV Testing including hands-on experience with Samsung TV, LG TV, and Vidaa TV platforms.
• Strong background in both automation and manual testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Java, BDD frameworks, Cucumber, Selenium, Appium, and Shell Scripting.
• Experience in performance testing, KPI testing, API testing, and various forms of regression and sanity testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as Git and Jenkins.
• Understanding of Agile SDLC and Software Development Lifecycle principles.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (BSc, BTech, etc.).

Preferred Skills

• Additional CMS knowledge and familiarity with content management systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CDNs.
• Skills in using Tizen Studio, WebOS Studio, Charles Proxy, and Firebase Crash Analytics.
• Advanced programming and scripting abilities beyond the core requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
