Packaging Development Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Packaging Development Engineer to join our team as an external resource. This role will provide support to category leads in the Packaging team for the development, testing, and documentation of all change initiatives in packaging. The ideal candidate will function as an extension of our internal team, collaborating with various departments and external partners to ensure assigned tasks are completed on time and meet the expected quality standards.
Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination:
- Coordinate with Packaging Development Department (PDD) Packaging Category leads for packaging change initiatives.
- Attend cross-functional team (CFT) meetings as necessary to establish mutually agreed-upon project timelines.
- Conduct packaging material testing at various stages of development and maintain documentation on a digital platform.

Design, Testing, & Documentation:
- Collect necessary information from stakeholders for packaging change initiatives.
- Finalize and release packaging material specifications based on trial results.
- Provide support to category leads on benchmark studies.
- Compile project reports, documents, and maintain a database of all change initiatives.
- Upload necessary packaging material data into our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) from a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics (PCM) as the main subject, demonstrating strong scientific acumen.
- 2 years of full-time or 1 year of part-time Diploma from a Packaging Institute such as the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) or SIES School for Packaging is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in packaging development for FMCG products.
- Experience with a wide range of packaging industry services, such as new packaging development, mold management, value engineering, and machine validation (FAT/SAT), is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to packaging.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in packaging design.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in packaging development within the FMCG sector.
