Job Summary
The SQL Developer will be responsible for database development, including migration, data design, optimization, and performance tuning. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of database systems utilized by the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of databases from MSSQL to PostgreSQL, ensuring accuracy and system integrity.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to enhance performance and minimize resource consumption.
- Design and model relational databases based on project requirements.
- Utilize tools such as pgAdmin and DBeaver for database management and monitoring.
- Implement PL/pgSQL functions, triggers, and other advanced PostgreSQL features.
- Analyze indexing strategies and execution plans to improve overall query performance.
- Coordinate data migration and transformation (ETL) processes as needed, ensuring data integrity.
- Debug and troubleshoot database issues while adhering to coding best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working as a SQL Developer.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL programming.
- Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience in database design and relational data modeling.
- Proficient with database management tools like pgAdmin and DBeaver.
- Knowledge of PL/pgSQL, functions, triggers, CTEs, and window functions.
- Understanding of transaction management, isolation levels, and locking mechanisms.
- Exceptional problem-solving and debugging abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data transformation techniques.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in SQL development, preferably with PostgreSQL.
Environment
- Work location will be at BKC, Mumbai.
