Job Summary
The Financial Controller / AVP Finance is a critical leadership role responsible for managing the entire financial controllership function. This position requires a hands-on finance leader who can navigate complexities within the organization and ensure compliance and governance. The role involves owning the financial books, building scalable operations, and driving accountability to support the CFO and leadership team, ultimately contributing to WBN's ambitious growth trajectory.
Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close:
- Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures; target Month-3 hard close by WD-7.
- Prepare and review financial statements, channel-level Profit & Loss statements, Management Information System (MIS) reports, and management reporting across varied channels.
- Drive monthly reporting cadence including flash estimates, variance commentary, and develop board-ready presentations.

Controllership & Governance:
- Strengthen internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and accounting policies across the company.
- Manage the chart of accounts, intercompany accounting, and cost-center structure.
- Oversee statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and ensure timely regulatory filings.

Taxation & Compliance:
- Oversee Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance, Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), advance tax, and all other direct and indirect tax obligations.
- Handle nutraceutical-specific regulatory and FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) compliance matters.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.

Channel & Working Capital Finance:
- Track channel-wise receivables, marketplace settlements, deductions, and reconciliations.
- Monitor working capital, cash flow, inventory valuation, and accuracy of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across multiple SKUs.
- Support the CFO on liquidity planning, lender covenant reporting, and investor required deliverables.

Process & Systems:
- Lead improvements in the ERP systems, drive finance automation, and enhance reporting frameworks.
- Eliminate manual processes by constructing dashboards and exception-based workflows.
- Ensure data integrity across finance, supply chain, and commercial systems.

Team & Stakeholder Management:
- Mentor and manage a finance team of approximately 20 members across accounts, payables, tax, MIS, and controllership functions.
- Foster integration among sub-functions to operate cohesively; implement shared practices, escalation paths, and joint accountability.
- Build relationships with business stakeholders, acting as a supportive finance partner rather than just a gatekeeper.
- Develop a positive workplace culture within the finance team, focusing on leadership development and maintaining morale.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
- Experience: 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in relevant fields; previous experience in D2C, FMCG, nutraceuticals, consumer brands, quick commerce, or high-growth startups is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Deep expertise in financial controllership, Indian Accounting Standards (IndAS), statutory audits, and multi-entity compliance.
- Hands-on experience with marketplace finance, including reconciliations and settlement cycles.
- Proven ability to manage teams of 15–20+ and foster a culture of ownership.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel analytics.
- Process-oriented mindset with a bias towards automation and scalability.

- Familiarity with financial compliance specific to the nutraceutical industry.
- Experience in fast-paced and ambiguous entrepreneurial environments.
