Job Summary

The Shopper & Category Trade Marketing Lead will be pivotal in driving category growth, enhancing shopper conversion, and ensuring trade effectiveness and channel profitability. This role expects collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to develop shopper-led growth strategies, optimizing trade investments, improving revenue realization, and strengthening demand planning capabilities. The incumbent is tasked with leading trade promotions, performance marketing, visibility programs, category development initiatives, and revenue management projects, aligning with strong commercial returns and execution excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute channel-specific shopper marketing strategies across General Trade (GT), Modern Trade (MT), E-commerce, and Quick Commerce.
  • Build annual activation calendars that align with brand and sales objectives.
  • Design and implement consumer promotions, in-store activations, and visibility programs.
  • Drive execution excellence across key retail partners and channels.
  • Generate category and shopper insights to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Partner with sales teams to formulate category growth plans for key customers and channels.
  • Analyze promotion effectiveness and assess trade investments and channel profitability to maximize growth.
  • Support monthly and quarterly sales forecasting processes and improve forecast accuracy by collaborating with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.

Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.
  • 6–8 years of experience in Shopper Marketing, Trade Marketing, Category Management, or Revenue Growth Management within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • Strong exposure to GT, MT, E-commerce, and Quick Commerce channels.
  • Proven experience managing trade promotions, category development, performance marketing, and demand planning.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in commercial and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience managing external agencies and cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to manage agencies effectively.
  • Experience in digital marketing and e-commerce strategies would be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in the FMCG sector with a focus on trade marketing and category insights.
