Production Engineer

Job Summary

The Production Engineer will specialize in facade engineering with a focus on fabrication and assembly of facade systems. This role demands a strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety, ensuring work is done right the first time. The engineer will be responsible for interpreting drawings, planning production, managing materials, and coordinating with various teams to meet daily and weekly production targets. This position contributes directly to the successful delivery of high-quality facade systems, supporting the company’s manufacturing and project goals.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble facade systems including unitised, semi-unitised, and cladding systems with precision and adherence to quality standards.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and optimize material usage for cutting.
• Convert drawings into accurate quantities and develop detailed production plans and schedules.
• Oversee manufacturing and production processes, ensuring adherence to process sequences and quality control systems.
• Manage CNC programmers and operators, supervise aluminium and steel fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.
• Coordinate inventory management and storage of sensitive materials such as silicon and glass panels, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles, maintain health and safety standards, and enforce machine safety protocols.
• Liaise with stores and clients regarding commercial and contractual terms, variation claims, and negotiate as necessary.
• Document and report production progress, quality issues, and maintain thorough engineering documentation.
• Train and mentor workmen, fostering a disciplined, punctual, and quality-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facade engineering, specifically in fabrication and assembly of facade systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOM.
• Strong knowledge of materials including aluminium extrusion, glass, sealants, EPDM, steel, brackets, and insulation.
• Skilled in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with quality control systems, lean manufacturing, and health and safety standards.
• Competent in fabrication processes including CNC programming, welding, and assembly.
• Proficient in digital tools such as AutoCAD software.
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and coordinate with clients and internal teams.

Preferred Skills

• Additional courses or certifications in production management.
• Experience working in a tier 2 city environment and demonstrated growth through practical experience.
• Training mindset with openness to flexible work approaches.
• Ability to build and lead teams effectively.
• Knowledge of commercial and contractual terms related to facade production.

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in facade engineering and production.
• Hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, and quality management of facade systems.

Environment

• Full-time, in-office position based in Bangalore.
• Work environment involves factory and production floor settings with exposure to manufacturing processes and safety protocols.

Salary

• Approximate salary of 6 Lakhs Per Annum (INR).
