Role Overview
The Fund Manager – Diversified Funds will be responsible for managing equity mutual fund schemes that invest across market capitalizations, sectors, and themes. The role involves generating superior risk-adjusted returns through disciplined investment research, active portfolio management, and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance frameworks. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, market insights, and a proven track record in equity research and fund management.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Manage diversified equity portfolios with the objective of outperforming benchmarks and delivering consistent long‑term returns.
Formulate and execute investment strategies aligned with scheme mandates and market outlook.
Optimize portfolio construction through disciplined stock selection, risk controls, and position sizing.
Monitor portfolio performance, risk metrics, and attribution analysis; take corrective actions where necessary.
Research & Analysis
Conduct deep fundamental research on companies across sectors and market caps.
Evaluate macroeconomic indicators, industry trends, and global developments influencing markets.
Collaborate with internal research analysts to refine investment theses and identify high‑conviction ideas.
Maintain continuous coverage of existing portfolio companies and potential investment opportunities.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to SEBI regulations, internal risk limits, scheme mandates, and compliance protocols.
Maintain appropriate documentation of investment rationale, compliance checks, and decisions.
Work closely with risk, compliance, and operations teams to ensure smooth fund functioning.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track fund performance versus benchmarks and peer groups.
Prepare periodic reports, presentations, and commentary for investors, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
Engage in discussions with senior management, product teams, and marketing for fund updates and strategy positioning.
Stakeholder Communication
Communicate investment strategy, market views, and portfolio decisions through webinars, investor calls, and media interactions (as approved).
Work with sales and product teams to support business growth and investor education.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
MBA (Finance), CA, CFA (preferred), or equivalent advanced finance qualifications.
Experience
15-20 years of experience in fund management, equity research, portfolio management, or investment strategy roles (depending on seniority) out of which 5 yrs of portfolio management is a must. Overall experience should not be less than 14–15 years.
Demonstrated track record of managing or contributing to diversified equity portfolios.

Technical Skills
Strong financial analysis and valuation skills (DCF, relative valuation, financial modeling).
Deep understanding of equity markets, macro trends, and sectoral dynamics.
Proficiency in investment analytics tools: Bloomberg, Reuters, Capital IQ, FactSet, etc.
