Job Description Business Development Manager - South India We are searching for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join our team and develop our business in South India. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing sales strategies and programs to achieve or exceed sales objectives for the region. You will also manage a team of salespeople and ensure that all sales systems and processes are in place and being used effectively. Responsibilities: ● Develop business in South India by planning, directing, and implementing sales strategies and programs to achieve or exceed sales objectives for the region. ● ● Effectively manage the business in the concerned region and achieve the sales objectives. ● Set targets and monitor them periodically to ensure that they are in line with the business plan. ● Meet the revenue and margin targets for the region. ● Drive business development activities in the region. ● Generate sales of Plum products in the region through a team of salespeople in order to achieve or exceed the annual sales targets. ● Achieve regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. ● ● Analyze the sales trend and take corrective actions wherever necessary. ● Develop and maintain a strong sales infrastructure and an aggressive sales team. ● Manage, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Area Sales Managers. ● Deploy the sales team as per the company's requirement and budget. ● Accomplish regional sales human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned districts. ● ● Appoint the right set of channel partners with appropriate experience, good infrastructure, financially strong, and with an attitude to grow. ● ● Plan, prepare, and oversee sales budgets, sales forecasts, and sales plans. ● Develop a sales plan to ensure optimal utilization of resources in the region. ● Meet regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements. ● Prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions. ● ● Ensure that all promotions are within the budget. ● Prepare a sales growth blueprint for the future. ● Ensure coordination and relationship management with distributors, customers, as well as other departments. ● Ensure that distributors and customers in the region are provided with information about new or improved Plum products and services in order to improve sales in the region. ● Develop and maintain an efficient distribution network. ● Ensure commercial hygiene by monitoring damages, complaints, etc. ● Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure that adequate marketing support by way of merchandising and promotions is available in the region in order to provide brand visibility and promote sales in the region. ● ● Continuously gain and update category and channel expertise. ● Continuously acquire knowledge regarding the industry, market construct, and customer behavior to enable effective business plans. ● Acquire knowledge regarding competitor products and develop strategies to counter competition in the best possible manner. ● ● Coordinate with Supply Chain and Stock Control activities. ● Develop systems for accurate forecasting and ensure follow up with production and logistics. ● Manage stock control at customer points and distributor points. ● Maintain appropriate stock levels at customer points and distributor points. ● Ensure smooth supplies and timely dispatch to distributors from the warehouse. ● Ensure that sales systems and processes are in place and being used effectively. ● Develop timely feedback systems on the business. ● Develop systems to monitor customer-wise sales. Qualifications: ● Sound knowledge of sales and sales administration processes ● Strong understanding of general trade, Modern Trade, OTC, and Health & Wellness stores ● Minimum 5-6 years of sales experience in a consumer goods company, preferably in the FMCG or health and wellness industry ● Strong leadership skills ● Excellent communication and negotiation skills ● Presentation skills ● Ability to manage and lead a team ● Strong decision-making ability ● Ability to build relationships ● Excellent business acumen ● ● Self-motivated ● Aggressive ● Sincere ● Positive approach to problem-solving ● Commitment to achieving sales targets ● Dynamic and exploratory Educational Level: ● Graduation - Any specialization ● Post-Graduation - PGDM/MBA in Marketing or Sales Management (preferred) Number of Subordinates: ● ASMs report to this position (varying numbers) Join Plum and be a part of a company that is revolutionizing the plant-based skincare industry.
