Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Area Credit Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for credit and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. This role is crucial to ensure the effective assessment and management of borrowers, contributing significantly to the organization's goals of expanding affordable housing finance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of borrower profiles, repayment capacity, and income stability as an individual contributor.
- Evaluate loan ticket sizes of up to ₹1.5 crore.
- Visit business premises, properties, and residences of customers during the due diligence process.
- Analyze actual business income and expenses of customers beyond reported income.
- Understand customer business requirements and perspectives to tailor credit solutions.
- Assess the creditworthiness of customers and their intentions to repay by analyzing all documentation and findings from the due diligence.
- Study, analyze, and interpret legal and technical reports related to property valuation.
- Underwrite and sanction home loan/loan against property files sourced by the sales team.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with different departments, ensuring adherence to policies and processes.
- Monitor non-starters and first EMI bounce trends, reporting regularly on various Management Information Systems (MIS) to track portfolio performance and risk.
- Continuously improve underwriting capability based on portfolio performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in credit analysis or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the affordable housing segment.
- Familiarity with the policies and operational procedures in loan assessments and underwriting.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in analyzing financial documents and legal contracts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Capacity to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in credit assessment, underwriting, or related roles within the financial services industry.
Environment
The position is based in Mumbai, and it is a full-time role. The work environment requires collaboration across departments within the company.
