Job Summary

The Data Solutions Architect will lead the design and architecture of enterprise-grade data solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role is essential for creating efficient data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption processes that align with business goals and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-grade data solutions on Azure, focusing on data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, data analysts, and IT teams to understand their needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Platform Evaluation & Selection: Evaluate and recommend optimal Azure services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage) to meet specific business and technical requirements.
• Data Modeling & Governance: Design logical and physical data models for the data lakehouse, and implement data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
• Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Lead and execute PoCs to validate architectural approaches and demonstrate the business value of new technologies and methodologies.
• Roadmap & Strategy: Contribute to the development of the overall data strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
• Cost Optimization: Design solutions focusing on performance and cost-effectiveness while implementing cost management and optimization strategies for Azure data services.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; further education (e.g., Master’s or certification) is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and data architecture best practices; experience in data modeling and governance.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and collaboration abilities, and stakeholder management expertise.
• Certifications: Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) can be beneficial.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark) is a plus.
• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).

Experience

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data architecture and solutions design, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and Azure services.
