Job Description: Head – Digital Technology (Mutual Fund)

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Head – Digital Technology, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, to lead the digital transformation of our mutual fund business. This individual will be responsible for formulating and implementing the digital strategy to drive growth, engagement, and customer satisfaction across digital touchpoints. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in digital innovation, customer acquisition, platform enhancement, and data-driven decision-making, ideally within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Strategy & Transformation

• Design and execute a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap aligned with the business strategy.
• Oversee the digital ecosystem covering websites, mobile applications, partner portals, and emerging digital platforms (e.g., conversational AI,).
• Drive omnichannel integration to ensure consistent and seamless investor experiences.

2. Customer Acquisition, Retention & Engagement

• Lead data-driven campaigns to onboard new investors, enhance wallet share, and reduce churn.
• Design personalized digital journeys and behavioural nudges to increase engagement and lifetime value.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to deliver targeted, measurable digital marketing initiatives.

3. Product & Platform Innovation

• Own the product roadmap for digital platforms, ensuring best-in-class UI/UX, high availability, and scalability.
• Continuously improve platforms to support end-to-end transactions (financial & non-financial), regulatory compliance, and service capabilities.
• Drive innovation in customer interaction models and digital servicing capabilities.

4. Analytics, Insights & Automation

• Establish robust data analytics and performance measurement frameworks across digital platforms.
• Leverage AI/ML to enhance personalization, automate processes, and drive efficiency.
• Generate actionable insights to inform business decisions and strategic investments.

5. Compliance, Governance & Risk

• Ensure all digital initiatives comply with SEBI, AMFI, and data privacy norms (e.g., PDP Bill).
• Integrate security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles in platform development.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with digital operations.

6. Leadership & Team Development

• Build and mentor a high-performance digital team across product management, UX, marketing, and analytics.
• Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability.
• Act as a change agent and evangelist for digital-first thinking across the organization.

 

Qualifications and Skills

• 1. 12–15 years of progressive experience in digital leadership roles within mutual funds, asset management, banking, or fintech.
  2. Proven track record in:
• Driving digital transformation at scale.
• Building and enhancing digital platforms (web, mobile, APIs).
• Customer acquisition through digital channels.
  3. Deep understanding of financial products, investor journeys, and regulatory environment (SEBI, AMFI, data privacy).
  4. Proficiency in:

• Digital marketing tools (MarTech, CRM, automation platforms).
• UI/UX principles and design thinking.
• Analytics platforms and data visualization tools.
