Job Summary

  • Conduct backups, restore processes, and maintain recovery models, emphasizing proactive housekeeping and data archiving.
  • Troubleshoot database issues including integrity, performance, connectivity, and resource contention problems.
  • Collaborate with various teams and raise support tickets with vendors such as AWS and Oracle for issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in database administration for MySQL and PostgreSQL environments.
    • Familiarity with AWS RDS, Aurora, and Amazon Redshift.
    • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including DBCS and Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW).
    • Understanding of Hadoop and command-line interfaces, particularly OCI CLI.
    • Strong experience in Python for operational automation.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong documentation practices and ability to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Education: Relevant degree or certifications in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not specified.

  • Experience with database monitoring and alerting tools like SolarWinds DPA, CloudWatch, and Opsgenie.
