Job Summary
The Watch Designer will be responsible for creating a cohesive house of watch archetypes from scratch, defining the brand’s design language, and translating concepts into production-ready specifications. This role involves close collaboration with manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality execution and consistency across collections, contributing significantly to Bruno Milano’s vision of building iconic, trend-defying watches.
Responsibilities
- Design the archetypes that define the entire house of watches, establishing a unique and recognizable brand identity.
- Convert conceptual ideas into production-ready specifications, including dials, cases, straps, and movements.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners to move designs efficiently from sketches to shelf, ensuring quality and speed.
- Develop and maintain a design language that can be used to build entire collections, ensuring consistency and brand recognition.
- Ensure every product remains distinctively Bruno Milano, even as industry trends evolve.
- Oversee sampling and quality control throughout the production process, from initial prototypes to final products.
Qualifications
- Experience designing watches or similar precision products; manufacturing exposure is highly valued.
- Strong aesthetic sense with a keen eye for premium design.
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturers to facilitate fast-paced development cycles.
- An impressive portfolio demonstrating relevant design work.
- Excellent collaborative skills and ability to work directly with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of watch components such as dials, cases, straps, and movements.
- Educational background in Product Design, Industrial Design, or related fields.
