The company operates India's largest iron ore mine in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli/Chandrapur and is known for pioneering integrated steel production, with an expansive capacity that includes 4 MTPA pellets and a strategic plan to scale to 12 MTPA, as well as a 1.2 MTPA wire-rod and 3 MTPA Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) plant.

Job Summary

As a Data Architect at Lloyds Metals & Energy, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and designing comprehensive data platforms during an exciting phase of post-merger expansion. You will be responsible for overseeing data governance and quality while leading a team dedicated to integrating multiple data sources. This position demands strategic vision and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable data platforms that integrate cloud services (Azure, AWS, Databricks) with on-premise systems.
  • Lead Agile and Scrum teams to scope and prioritize projects in collaboration with plant managers, senior leaders, and vendors.
  • Implement frameworks for data quality, lineage, governance, and security tailored for industrial operations (including MES, SCADA, and ERP systems).
  • Navigate organizational hierarchies effectively while employing political savvy to influence without formal authority.
  • Hire, mentor, and establish a high-performing data department from scratch.
  • Ensure the design of end-to-end data platforms across eight disparate sources (SAP and Microsoft stack) with a focus on foundational data quality and governance.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer with a focus on delivering full data platforms (not just pipelines).
  • Proven ability to lead Agile teams with experience in hybrid cloud and on-premises technologies (experience with SAP, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks is a plus).
  • Background in industrial, manufacturing, mining, or energy sectors, particularly with plant floor data handling, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of translating business needs into actionable technical roadmaps.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with large-scale data integration and delivery systems.
  • Familiarity with data governance best practices and compliance standards in industrial settings.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in sectors associated with industrial data management.

Environment

This role typically involves working in a hybrid setting, combining both on-site presence at manufacturing facilities and remote work. Candidates should be prepared to engage with on-ground teams and collaborate through various data platforms effectively.

Salary

Salary details are not specified; however, candidates can expect compensation commensurate with experience and industry standards.

Growth Opportunities

Lloyds Metals & Energy offers robust career advancement opportunities, especially in expanding data and analytics roles, as the company continues to grow and innovate in the mining and metals industry.

Benefits
