Job Summary
The Engineer specializing in Platform & IP Validation will be responsible for creating and executing test plans for both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments. The role focuses on qualifying all features supported by silicon, ensuring robust validation of different IPs, and engaging with various cross-functional teams to achieve project success.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute comprehensive platform and IP validation test plans for pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
- Take complete ownership of enabling and validating various IPs.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including IP/Silicon Design, Signal Integrity, Firmware (FW), BIOS, and Quality Assurance (QA).
- Conduct validations for Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) components including but not limited to DDR ECC, Ethernet IPs, and PCIe.
- Ensure the validation of interfaces and storage technologies such as I2S, I2C, USB, PCIe, UART, SATA, SSD, and NVMe.
- Utilize debugging and test equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers to debug interfaces and resolve bring-up failures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of platform and board design concepts (schematics/layout).
- Proficiency with lab tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers, and experience with performing simple rework.
- Skilled interaction with cross-functional teams (Firmware, BIOS, Layout, Platform, IP Design, Silicon Design).
- Hands-on experience with validation practices for high-speed memories and peripherals including LPDDR3, DDR4, USB 2.0/3.0, eMMC, M.2, SATA, NVMe, PCIe, and Gigabit Ethernet.
- Experience in writing scripts using Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- In-depth knowledge of graphics and display technologies including GPU, video codecs, DP, HDMI, and DVI.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with x86 processors' basic architecture.
- Experience in SOC/Platform bring-up and debugging failures.
- Additional experience with low-speed peripherals such as SPI, UART, I2C is a plus.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in relevant fields.

- The position is based in Bengaluru at AMD's facility, typically in a hybrid work environment depending on project needs.
Salary
- Budget for the position is Experience x 4X.
