Category Lead
Opportunity
Ebco India is looking for Category Leads who can manage the lifecycle of a group of
categories, all the way from ideation & launch to after-sales. The Category Lead will own the
product strategy and relevant P&L, manage the portfolio, identify user needs & trends and
create a roadmap for new products. This person will also work closely with cross-functional
teams (Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Marcom, Sales & Service) to
develop and launch products and monitor their performance.
Specific Responsibilities:
Owns P&L & delivers business objectives for respective categories including sales
growth, margins, market share & new product vitality
Leads development & execution of product roadmaps, portfolio management &
commercialization of product launches
Monitor sales performance (region/channel/sub-cat wise) of respective product
categories & building their differentiated GTM by being up to speed with inputs from
Sales team/Partners/Customers
Act as the internal and external focal point for the resolution of product issues
(quality, cost, warranty, performance) within the categories of responsibility
Manage the portfolio by maintaining product line ups, price hierarchy, positioning for
the respective products; also build competitive benchmarking with other brands with
competition product line ups and price charts (line structure analysis)
Work closely with supply chain/sourcing/manufacturing for demand forecasting &
supply plan every month/ quarter
Plan and initiate new product development efforts to grow sales and profits for the
categories; develop & own the 1-2 year product and innovation roadmaps
Translate voice of customer into new product efforts by developing new scopes
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in any field, ideally Engineering (desirable – mechanical). MBA
preferred.
P&L/Brand/category management experience of 5-7 years in durable products/
building and construction industry desirable (home appliances, small appliances,
furniture fittings, furniture, plumbing etc)
Hands-on, detail oriented, energetic and results-driven
Reporting into CMO
