<p><b>IMPACT AT EVOCS</b></p>
<p>As a Microsoft Fabric Architect within EVOCS’ consulting practice, you will lead clients</p>
<p>through discovery, solution design, and delivery of modern analytics platforms on Microsoft</p>
<p>Fabric and the broader Microsoft data stack. You’ll own architecture decisions</p>
<p>end‑to‑end—spanning OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory (Pipelines),</p>
<p>Notebooks/Spark, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, and Power BI—and translate</p>
<p>business goals into secure, governable, high‑performance solutions. This is a client‑facing,</p>
<p>hands-on role that blends advisory, architecture, and enablement to help customers ship</p>
<p>value quickly and safely.</p>
<p><b>WHAT YOU WILL DO | JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p>
<p><b>Client discovery, solution architecture & roadmaps</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Run workshops to define personas, data products, KPIs, and success metrics; map</p>
<p>current → target state.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Produce reference architectures and roadmaps (Now/Next/Later) tailored to each</p>
<p>client’s needs and constraints.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Author clear architecture decision records (ADRs), estimates, and SOW inputs;</p>
<p>present options and trade‑offs to executives.</p>
<p><b>Fabric platform design & implementation</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Design secure, scalable Fabric environments: domains, workspaces, capacities</p>
<p>(Pro/Premium/Fabric), and connectivity (gateways/VNet data gateway).●</p>
<p>Architect Lakehouse/Warehouse patterns (Bronze/Silver/Gold), Delta/Parquet</p>
<p>storage, and Direct Lake/Import/DirectQuery strategies for semantic models.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Orchestrate pipelines with Data Factory/Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2; enable</p>
<p>engineering with Notebooks/Spark and SQL where appropriate.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Where relevant, leverage Real‑Time capabilities (Event Streams, KQL databases) for</p>
<p>streaming analytics.</p>
<p><b>Governance, security & compliance</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Implement tenant/workspace governance, role design, RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels,</p>
<p>dataset/report certification, and retention.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Integrate with Microsoft Purview for catalog, lineage, and glossary; define</p>
<p>dataset/semantic model ownership and data contracts.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Establish guardrails for self‑service and “fusion teams” (business + IT) via a</p>
<p>pragmatic Center of Excellence (CoE) model.</p>
<p><b>Performance, reliability & cost optimization</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Tune models and pipelines: partitioning, incremental refresh, semantic modeling</p>
<p>standards, and query performance analysis.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Monitor capacity health and concurrency; right‑size capacities and schedule</p>
<p>workloads to meet SLAs at sustainable cost.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Build observability: usage/adoption telemetry, refresh reliability, failure alerts, and</p>
<p>data‑quality checks.</p>
<p><b>DevOps & lifecycle management</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Set up Git integration and deployment pipelines; enforce CI checks and promotion</p>
<p>(dev/test/prod) with rollback strategies.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Use Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit and automated validation (naming</p>
<p>conventions, BPA rules) for semantic models.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Document runbooks and support procedures; lead cutovers and hypercare.</p>
<p><b>Migration & modernization</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Lead migrations from legacy BI/ETL (e.g., on‑prem, ADF/Synapse, Premium‑only</p>
<p>estate) to Fabric with minimal disruption.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Prioritize quick wins and phased adoption (coexistence patterns, semantic model</p>
<p>consolidation).</p>
<p><b>Enablement & thought leadership</b></p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Train client teams (analysts, engineers, admins) and publish concise playbooks, style</p>
<p>guides, and accelerator templates.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Contribute to EVOCS thought leadership with demos, talks, and case studies</p>

<p>7–12+ years across data engineering/BI on Microsoft technologies, including recent,</p>
<p>hands-on Microsoft Fabric work.</p>

<p>Expert Power BI (semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query/M, RLS/OLS, deployment</p>
<p>pipelines) with a portfolio of production solutions.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Proven design/delivery using Lakehouse/Warehouse, OneLake, Dataflows Gen2,</p>
<p>Data Factory/Pipelines, Notebooks/Spark.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Strong grasp of Direct Lake vs Import vs DirectQuery trade-offs and composite</p>
<p>models.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Governance and administration proficiency: capacities, workspace strategy,</p>
<p>sensitivity labels, lineage, gateways, environment setup.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>CI/CD for analytics (GitHub or Azure DevOps), including semantic model ALM and</p>
<p>environment promotion.</p>
<p>●</p>
<p>Consulting presence: leads workshops, frames problems, presents options, and</p>
<p>writes clear architectural documents for executives.</p>
