Job Summary
The Kubernetes Tech Lead will be responsible for leading the migration of applications from Amazon EC2 to Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), enhancing scalability and container orchestration. The role demands strong expertise in Kubernetes and experience with CI/CD pipelines. The candidate will contribute to the established operational processes and ensure successful application deployments and infrastructure support.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of applications from EC2 to EKS to improve scalability and container orchestration.
- Execute application version upgrades and deployments on EC2 servers.
- Implement and manage EKS code deployments using Bitbucket and Argo CD for automated and reliable CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate EKS version upgrades through CI/CD pipelines utilizing Bitbucket and Argo CD.
- Deploy Kubernetes workloads utilizing custom YAML manifests, managing Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Provide infrastructure support for existing application landscapes and ensure version consistency across multiple environments.
- Conduct monthly audits and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Utilize ServiceNow and Jira to raise and track requests with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with auditing and asset control for customer environments.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Skills:
- Proficient in Kubernetes, EKS, Argo / Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
- Desired Skills:
- Experience with AWS Cloud, DevOps, and scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not specified).
Preferred Skills
- In-depth experience with installing, configuring, and administering Cloud Kubernetes distributions.
- Familiarity with Docker containers and other containerization technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking/firewall concepts related to Kubernetes.
- Previous experience in structured IT Operational processes: work request ticket management, incident management, change management, and problem management.
- Hands-on experience in installation and deployment of Kubernetes Container Platform.
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as GIT, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Proficiency in AWS services (EKS, IAM, VPC, EC2, CloudWatch).
- Experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Multi-Tenancy Configuration.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience
- A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in managing Kubernetes and cloud environments.
Environment
The position is based in Bengaluru, with a focus on offshore operations. The role may involve collaboration with remote teams, requiring effective communication skills.
Salary
Estimated salary is 150K/month.
