Job Summary

We are searching for a skilled Ruby on Rails Engineer to support a leading organization in the data tracking and analytics sector. This role involves leveraging data science and machine learning technologies to enhance a data reporting and visualization module. The position contributes significantly to the organization's goal of transforming human performance data management and providing meaningful insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end features.
• Support data scientists in implementing efficient data processing models.
• Ensure best practices in security, including data encryption and authorization.
• Maintain and enhance AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Technical Requirements:

  • Ruby (5+ years) – Strong backend development experience.
  • AWS (5+ years) – Proficient in cloud infrastructure.
  • MySQL (5+ years) – Competent in database design and optimization.
  • Terraform (2+ years) – Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • API Development – Skilled in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Security & Compliance Awareness – Familiar with audited security practices (e.g., ISO27001).

• Business & Collaboration Experience:

  • Remote Working & Collaboration (5+ years).
  • SCRUM/Agile Experience (2+ years).
  • Direct interaction with product and QA teams (2+ years).

• Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a user-focused mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Experience within a mature engineering culture.
• Comfortable working in a matrix management structure.

Experience

• 10 to 12 years of experience in backend engineering roles, particularly with Ruby on Rails and relevant technologies.

Environment

• Onsite work at the Kloc office, available during UK business hours (GMT/BST). Occasional travel to the client’s HQ may be required (costs will be covered).
