DevOps Manager

Job Summary

As a DevOps Manager, you will lead the DevOps function at Techblocks India, combining hands-on technology expertise with leadership skills to drive process improvements and automation strategies. Your role will be pivotal in setting the vision for DevOps practices and enhancing cross-team efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Architect and guide the implementation of enterprise-grade Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines that support multi-environment deployments, microservices architecture, and zero downtime delivery practices.
• Oversee Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives to establish consistent and compliant cloud provisioning using Terraform and Helm, along with policy-as-code integrations.
• Champion DevSecOps practices by embedding security controls throughout the pipeline, ensuring image scanning, secrets encryption, policy checks, and runtime security enforcement.
• Lead and manage a geographically distributed DevOps team, setting performance expectations, development plans, and engagement strategies.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, QA, product, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to establish integrated DevOps governance practices.
• Develop a framework for release readiness, rollback automation, change control, and environment reconciliation processes.
• Monitor deployment health, release velocity, lead time to recovery, and infrastructure cost optimization through actionable DevOps metrics dashboards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for C-level stakeholders during major infrastructure changes, incident escalations, or audits.
• Own the budgeting and cost management strategy for DevOps tooling, cloud consumption, and external consulting partnerships.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard emerging DevOps technologies, ensuring team readiness through structured onboarding, proofs of concept (POCs), and knowledge sessions.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and ownership through internal tech talks, hackathons, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 14+ years total experience, with at least 4-5 years in a DevOps Manager role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Cloud: Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including the complete stack from Identity and Access Management (IAM) to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • CI/CD: Ownership of end-to-end pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Argo CD.
  • IaC: Expertise in Terraform and Helm.
  • Containers: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevSecOps: Familiarity with Vault, Trivy, and OWASP.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to drive cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to FinOps for cost optimization.
• Familiarity with Big Data tools such as BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Knowledge of technologies like Kong, Anthos, and Istio.

Experience

• 14+ years of total experience, including 4-5 years in a DevOps Manager role.
