Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President – Institutional Markets & Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for expanding CDSL's presence across various institutional market segments, including FPIs, Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Pension Funds, AIFs, PMS providers, Banks, and other Financial Institutions. The role involves leveraging deep understanding of India's institutional investment ecosystem, managing key stakeholder relationships, and translating market insights into strategic business, product, and technology initiatives to enhance market access and participation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business development and market expansion across institutional investor segments.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with custodians, institutional investors, intermediaries, and other key market participants.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance institutional participation and strengthen CDSL's position within the institutional ecosystem.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end onboarding requirements for institutional investors, including FPIs.
  • Act as a strategic interface between market participants and internal teams to facilitate onboarding, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Product teams to drive enhancements that improve market access, onboarding efficiency, and overall experience for institutional investors.
  • Represent CDSL at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, industry engagement, and regulatory advocacy initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA from a reputed institution.
  • Experience: 10+ years in capital markets, institutional business, custody services, securities services, market infrastructure institutions, or related domains.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of India's institutional investment ecosystem, custody services, and market infrastructure.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with custodians and institutional investor onboarding processes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Additional Skills: Ability to translate market requirements into strategic initiatives, influence stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with custodians and institutional investor onboarding processes.
  • Proven track record in business development within capital markets.
  • Expertise in regulatory frameworks affecting institutional investments.
  • Thought leadership in industry forums and advocacy.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in capital markets, institutional business, custody services, securities services, or related fields.
  • Prior experience working with custodians and institutional investor onboarding is desirable.
