Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Power Engineer with expertise in interconnection studies, power flow analysis, and grid interconnection processes for renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ISO/RTO markets, power system modeling, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-standard power flow tools, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for projects in ISO/RTO interconnection queues, including strategy analysis and tariff advisory.
- Prepare and submit interconnection applications, ensuring compliance with grid operator requirements.
- Conduct power flow, stability, and affected system studies, assessing material modifications to existing infrastructure.
- Assist in load flow analysis for transmission and distribution systems.
- Utilize industry-standard power flow tools (GE-PSLF, PSS/E, PowerWorld, CYMDIST, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD) for simulations and analysis.
- Research and track power market trends in major ISO/RTO markets to provide policy insights.
- Develop process efficiencies and automation to streamline workflows.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Power/Energy Systems or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in power flow analysis and/or interconnection studies.
- Strong understanding of power flow, stability analysis, and load flow studies.
- Hands-on experience with GE-PSLF, PSS/E, PowerWorld, CYMDIST, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD.
- Must Have Skills - PSLF, PSS/E and PSCAD.
- Strong quantitative and modeling skills with a focus on data analysis and database management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Programming knowledge (Excel macro programming, Python, MATLAB, SQL).
- Experience in process automation and workflow optimization.
- Prior work experience with US-based clients or projects.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and tariff structures in ISO/RTO markets.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in power flow analysis and/or interconnection studies.
- Exposure to ISO/RTO interconnection processes in the US market.
Environment
- Remote work with candidates having US market experience preferred.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 11 PM IST.
Salary
- Compensation: 10 to 12 LPA
