Job Summary

The Mainframe Storage Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and managing DASD and tape environments, ensuring data backup and restoration, and setting up disaster recovery processes. This role is crucial for supporting z/OS and storage management product upgrades, contributing to the organization's overall data management and recovery strategies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage DASD and tape environments, including backup and restore of data.
• Set up disaster recovery processes using various storage management products and utilities.
• Support z/OS and storage management product upgrades and customization.
• Monitor and maintain SMS configuration and space availability.
• Perform basic backup and restore operations using storage management components and utilities.
• Manage DASD replication at various sites and oversee DASD migration projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Mainframe Storage Administration.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, OS/390, JES2, SMP/E, SDSF, TSO/ISPF, JCL, USS, SMF, RMF, and IBM utilities.
• Proficiency in Assembler, Rexx, and CLIST.
• Good understanding of system initialization, tuning, and SYSPLEX.
• Familiarity with HCD and working with IODFs.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery processes and storage concepts.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Educational qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in installation, upgrade, and maintenance of z/OS and related CA/BMC products.
• Sound knowledge in SMPE and installation/maintenance of program products.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and procedures.
• Ability to perform diagnostics and root cause analysis (RCA).

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Mainframe Storage Administration.

Environment

• Work mode: Hybrid (combination of remote and in-office work).
• Provide 24/7 on-call service to clients.

Salary

• Estimated salary range: ₹3,500,000.
