Job Summary

The Java Technical Manager will play a crucial role in the growth and industrialization of the Airops Fast Data platform, specifically within the airline domain. This position focuses on leading a team of developers, ensuring project delivery, and implementing best practices in software development while fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the growth, industrialization, and DevOps of the Airops Fast Data platform.
• Develop event-driven data interfaces between Airops products, the data platform, and third-party applications or middleware, within an MS Azure environment.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Java full stack Developers, Quality Analysts, and Business Analysts; foster a collaborative and innovative team culture while being accountable for performance and results.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Define a vision for the team aligned with departmental strategy, translating it into a concrete action plan with a high level of autonomy.
• Implement and promote Agile methodologies within the team, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and align development with business goals.
• Provide technical direction and support to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery by implementing robust testing and code review processes.
• Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team while staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Java developer with expertise in Java Quarkus or Java Spring Boot (Java version 21).
• Experience developing in a cloud environment (e.g., MS Azure or AWS).
• Familiarity with event streaming infrastructure (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hub).
• Experience with DevOps infrastructure and components, including Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Helm charts.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
