Job Summary
The Model Based Software Test Engineer will be responsible for validating software models through rigorous testing methodologies. This role involves engagement in all phases of software testing, utilizing expertise in tools such as Matlab and Simulink, to ensure high-quality software deliverables that meet regulatory and functional requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Model and Code Testing using Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL) testing methodologies.
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases for various testing phases including Unit Testing, Integration/Module Testing, and Requirements-Based Functional Testing.
- Utilize Simulink Test and other similar tools for effective testing and debugging of software models.
- Generate detailed test reports to communicate findings and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Work independently or with minimal guidance in complex projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies and address issues that arise during development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in model-based software testing.
- Proficient understanding of Matlab models, including Simulink and Stateflow.
- Strong debugging skills and experience with test tool suites.
- In-depth knowledge of all testing activities including test plan development, test case creation, and test execution.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with additional testing tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in software testing with a focus on model-based testing methodologies.
